One Day capacity Building Programme for teachers on co-scholastic aspect of CCE on Life Skills was organized at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana in collaboration with Expressions India from CBSE. The Resource person for the workshop was Mrs. Geeta Mehrotra, the technical Advisor to CBSE for Life Skills Education. This interactive session stressed upon Life Skills, Attitudes, Values and Helath and Wellness education. Workshop on Life Skills held at BCM Arya Around 45 teachers from different schools attended the workshop and got enlightened as the workshop strived to empower, support and streamline the pedagogy to effectively promote child and adolescent well- being in an inclusive environment for the schools. Mrs. Geeta Mehrotra also laid emphasis on the life skills with the examples from the life itself and also from the epics like Mahabharata. The workshop also included descriptive indicators all based on the interactive session along with latest cases. All in all it was an eye opener to know about the changing attitudes and value education. It was a motivational and inspiring workshop to inculcate the true values in order to make students responsible human beings.

B.C.M Aryans celebrate Earth Day
Students and teachers of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana celebrated World Earth Day – 2013 with much enthusiasm and gusto to commemorate Earth’s unique place in the universe. A number of energized ec-activities at various wings were organized with a view to promote the thoughts of ecology, reverence for existence on Earth and highlighting growing concern over pollution. The whole school was filled with heart warming and ecologically poignant artworks and displays done by students showing their concern about global healing and environmental issues. The Earth day was observed by Green School Programme students wherein Green School Captains of Land, air, water, energy, biodiversity and waste management were given badges by Principal Dr. Paramjit Kaur. On the occasion a new project was launched by the school under the guidelines of CBSE in co-ordination with PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals). It is a human education programme in which the sensitization for loving, caring animals and birds who have feelings, anxity, pain, love. We care for them who share planet with us. Dr. Paramjit Kaur encouraged the Green School Programme, OSI, GLOBE team to aware the community on the issue to care birds and animals. The programme is designed to help students develop respect and compassion for animals and to take up our duties towards other living beings on earth and to prosper interdependent system. The Kindergarten wing of the school also celebrated Earth Day with full zeal. The students of UKG took out a rally to sensitize the masses about saving the earth and its environment. Students also planted a number of saplings with a message to grow more trees. The students of LKG had a fancy dress competition themed ‘Mother Earth’. The students exhibited various aspects of ‘Mother Earth’ which need to be taken care of. It was a delight to watch tiny tots attired in beautiful dresses depicting various animals, birds, flowers and shades of nature in various hues and colours. The Principal Dr. Paramjit Kaur, applauded the efforts of the students and said the Earth Day was celebrated to educate the children about the importance of the flora and fauna and to save it.

Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony
To cherish the precious moments of
success and to herald the achievement of tiny tots the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony was
organized at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec.
School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana amidst much fun
and excitement. Dr. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the school graced the occasion
as Chief Guest. Mrs. P.K. Oberoi (Head Mistress) accorded warm welcome to the
parents of the students who passed out from the Kindergarten to Primary section
with new hopes and aspirations. It was a moment of celebration and pride for
tiny tots attired in adorable robes and tassels who walked down the aisle to
receive their Graduation Certificates amidst loud applause. The parents were
proud to see their little graduates exuding with confidence.
They thanked the teachers for ably
nurturing the talents of their kids. While delivering her speech, the Principal
stressed on the need to give good education to children from their early age.
Everybody wished them luck as they stepped into the formal education.

B.C.M Arya holds Emergency Preparedness
Programme
B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar,
Ludhiana organized an ‘Emergency Preparedness Programme’ under the aegis
of IAP Intensive Care chapter, Punjab State Branch and Society of Trauma and
Emergency Pediatrics. Nearly 80 participants from elite schools of Ludhiana
attended this workshop wherein Dr. Vikas Bansal, Consultant Pediatrician
and Pediatric Intensivist from S.P.S Apollo Hospital, Ludhiana, Dr. A.S.
Chawla, Pediatrician from Chawla Hospital, Ludhiana, Dr. Rashna Dass
Hazarika,Pediatrician from Guwahati, Assam and Dr. Suresh Gupta, Consultant
Pediatrician and Emergency Incharge from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi were
the resource persons.
During the
programme the team of doctors discussed
about various emergencies occurring in school campus. In medical emergencies- fractures,
neck injuries, electric shocks, allergy, asthama, eye and ear problems,
seizures, vomiting and many other cases were discussed.
Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the School dwelt
upon the need of creating health awareness amongst School teachers to save
precious lives.
Live demonstration was also given for basic life
support system during emergency. It was an interactive session which was made
more interesting by use of multimedia presentation. At the end, queries were
put forward by participants which were well answered by the resource persons.
On the whole, this was insightful session which enabled the participants to
learn how to tackle emergencies.

Enthusiasm marks Athletic Meet at B.C.M Arya
The
Annual Athletic Meet of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School,Shastri Nagar,
Ludhiana started off with the gusto of March –Past ceremony conducted
by the students of the Kindergarten and Primary section. This was
followed by the traditional lighting of the torch.
After
the Meet was declared open by Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the
School. Balloons were set free in the sky which showed the heights which
could be reached.
Athletes
took an oath to play fair. The meet began with the synchronized
Physical training display with ribbons and the umbrella dance,
harmonious blending fun and exercise.
Mrs.
Oberoi Headmistress appreciated the enthusiasm of kids who were dressed
as chirping birds, blooming buds and colourful butterflies, they
conveyed the message that nature is beautiful and we all must strive
together to conserve it.
The various events of the day were car race, Balloon race, Rabbit race, butterfly race and many more.

N.C.C ‘A’ Certificate Exam
held successfully at B.C.M Arya
NCC Examination for ‘A’ Certificate
for Junior Division and Junior Wing (Boys & Girls) was
organized successfully by 19 Pb N.C.C Battalion at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana.
As many as 250 cadets from 13
institutions of Ludhiana District appeared in written theory paper as well as
practical tests to earn the ‘A’ certificates. The theory paper consists of
first aid military history and question about drill movement. The practical
part covered drill test, map reading, FCBC (Field Craft and Battle Craft) and
WT (Weapon Training).
Lt. Col. Ranjit Singh from 19 Pb
NCC Battalion was the presiding officer on the occasion. The exam was
successfully carried out under the supervision of Adm. Officer Lt. Col. Alok Shankar,
S/M Kashmir Singh, Sub. Jagpal Singh, all PI staff along with A.N.O Ms. Poonam
and ANO Mr. Balbir Singh.

Reminiscences with old Pals – Alumni Meet Yaadein- 2012 at B.C.M Arya

Ludhiana city was a witness to a happy ‘reunion’ for old students of B.C.M. Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, when emotions ran high and they turned nostalgic and took a trip down the memory lane recalling the fond memories of their school days. It was a fun filled and potent gathering of old B.C.Mites where the alumni were present in full force. Mrs. Surinder Walia. Former Principal, B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School graced the occasion as Chief Guest with her benign presence. The event began with a welcome speech by. Mrs. Rachna Malhotra, Chief Supervisor of the School who considered this meet the marvelous event which will help strengthening the relationship between alumni and the institute and prove a dynamic link between past and present. The speech was followed by Western dance by students of the school. The Alumni of 1986-87 batch were also honoured on the occasion.
“It was this love and affection which has brought all of us together after so many years” one of the students said in his speech while getting nostalgic. Afterwards, the alumni were treated to a cultural programme presented by the students. Melodious songs of Mrs. Himani enthralled the audience. Tambola and fun games were also a part of the event. On the whole, the get-together gave a tremendous sense of belonging and pride to them who paid tributes to the faculty members who had taught them. Mr. Arvind Dhingra, President of B.C.M Alumni Association encouraged the alumni to take an active interest in the work and progress of the school so as to contribute towards their alma mater.
Vote of thanks was passed by Capt. V.K. Sayal, School Manager followed by the thump and beat of Bhangra which transported the audience to the world of Punjabi folk. The event concluded with dinner.

Grandparents’ Day celebrated at B.C.M Arya

It was a unique day filled with smiles, photos, singing and many hugs. Grandparents of kindergarten students gathered at School hall of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana for the Annual Grandparents’ Day celebrations. It was also a wonderful opportunity for students to thank their grandparents for their family heritage, and for the wisdom and love they provide. The celebration of Grandparent’s day started with lamp lighting ceremony followed by a dance prayer by Nursery students to seek the blessings of Almighty.
Rajasthani folk dance by students of Class 4th and 5th got a wondrous applause from the audience. Proud grandparents had tears of joy welling up in their eyes as the little children recited poems titled “Dada-Dadi, Nana-Nani Paed Bargad Ke”. Choreography ‘Incredible –India’ by LKG students left the audience spell-bound.
A presentation was also arranged by Mrs. P.K. Oberoi, the Headmistress of the School on the grandparents’ role in child’s life. Grand Parents were taken to the respective classes of their grandchildren. A lot of fun filled activites were organized on the occasion for the grandparents who thoroughly enjoyed themselves by participating in games, quiz, singing and lucky draws.
While highlighting the need of holding such events in times when family values are decreasing, Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the school laid stress on nurturing family bonding and to give a healthy atmosphere to the children for their growth and development.

To focus on improving and enhancing the quality of Science education, a workshop on effective teaching of Chemistry in classes IX-XII was organised in BCM Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana
The
school played a host to a fraternity of 50 Chemistry teachers from
various elite schools in and around Ludhiana. The workshop was addressed
by Prof. R.D. Shukla, former Professor & Head, Department of Education in Science & Mathematics and Dean NCERT, New Delhi as the Resource Person.
Prof. Shukla addressed
the teachers by sharing his experience and gave demonstration on making
models on some important topics of chemistry such as Solid State and Thermodynamics, Electrochemical cells and Equilibrium.
All
the models explained and demonstrated by him exhorted the teachers to
adopt an activity based guided discovery approach and also to stimulate
the creative spark in children. A number of group and individual
activities and power point presentations were also taken up The post tea
session was discussion and doubt clearing session by Prof. Shukla.
It was an enriching day in terms of interaction with eminent chemistry faculty like Prof Shukla as well as peer interaction and sharings.

B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana hosted a workshop wherein more than 80 teachers from various C.B.S.E. schools participated. The one-day Teachers’ Self Empowerment Workshop on ‘Latest Methodologies and Pedagogies in Mathematics at Primary Level’ was held with a motive to give teachers a platform to share their own initiatives undertaken for improving Mathematics and exposed them to a range of approaches, good practices and concrete strategies. A team of four teachers Mrs. Sweka, Mrs Harpreet, Mrs. Romila and Mrs. Namita piloted the workshop which centred around various themes like ice breaking sessions, subject matter and shortcomings, exploring and expressing oneself. Speaking on the occasion Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, the school Principal highlighted the importance of Maths in everyday life and exhorted the teachers to reinforce the students to have passion and interest in maths which has innumerable practical applications in today’s highly scientific world. On the whole this workshop motivated the teachers to help children explore and discuss about their own world of numbers.

The Book brought out by Chinmaya Mission ‘Tranforming Indians to Transform India’ was launched today by Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana in the presence of 300 students and a number of Principals from other schools, besides members of Chinmaya Mission, Ludhiana. The release of the book marks the beginning of a national level quiz based on this book in which 10 lakh participants are expected to register at the All India level. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Amrit Nagpal, patron highlighted the role of Chinmaya Mission on creating an awakening among the country men to build a strong and flourishing India. India undoubtly needs a transformation and all of us must think about it. This quiz will generate this thinking. It will bring a change within us. The details of the quiz were explained through a power point presentation by K.K. Dhir, Secretary. He hoped the younger generation will rise to the occasion . This quiz will surely strengthen the patriotic feelings in Indians. It is an attempt to make people peep into the great treasure of Knowledge. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal and the Chief Guest lauded the effort of Chinmaya Mission to promote national awakening among the youth. She expressed her strong optimism about the India of tomorrow. She exhorted the youth to focus on self –transformation which in turn would transform India into a world power.

CELEBRATED INDEPENDENCE DAY

The Independence Day was celebrated in B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana. with traditional passion, enthusiasm and renewed commitment to make the country strong, progressive and prosperous with tireless efforts.
On this special occasion, rich tributes were paid to freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives and fought to free their motherland from the clutches of the oppressors who ruled the country.. Tricoloured faces of students, tricolour bands in their hands and tricolour dresses worn by students and teachers filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervor.
The function started with the flag hoisting ceremony by Col. Ashish Katoch (Sena Medal), 2-IC, 103 AD Regiment, the Chief Guest on the occasion followed by the March Past and cultural programmes by young students. The children presented a colourful P.T. Show, Yoga and Gymnastics wherein synchronized steps regaled the spectators. . Taekwondo feats really stole the hearts of audience.
Students depicted the cultural heritage of India through Patriotic Medley ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ conveying the message of ‘Unity in Diversity’. The school campus echoed with the melodious patriotic songs and energetic dance performances left everyone spell bound.
The Chief Guest inspired the audience to maintain peace, security and public order to serve the Motherland and contribute for the development of the country.
The Principal of the School Mrs. Paramjit Kaur extended her wishes along with conveying the real motive behind celebrations of such festivals with the message “May the Indian tricolour always fly high”.
Capt. V.K. Sayal, Manager of the school passed a vote of thanks.

Maths Model on ‘Mathematis and Everyday life’ made by students of Class XI & XII of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana has been selected to be presented at the CBSE National level exhibition to be held in September 2012 at New Delhi. The exhibits were judged by experts based on students’ knowledge of the project, creativity , innovation, imagination, originality of the idea and the application if scientific principle. The Regional level competition was held at Cambridge International School for Girls, Jalandhar City. The model was prepared under guidance of teachers - Mrs. Anita Choudhary and Ms. Ashmita. Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur congratulated the students and teachers.

For the formal investing of newly elected office- bearers of the School Proctorial Board, an Investiture Ceremony was organized in the B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana.. Mr. Surinderbir Singh, Ex-Principal, GNE, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest on the occasion. A warm floral and oral welcome was accorded to him. The programme began with kindling the ceremonial lamp by the Chief Guest. Highlighting the need for high order discipline among today’s youth, Principal of the school Mrs. Paramjit Kaur sermonized the students to be enterprising, optimistic and enthusiastic as well as to be the role-models for juniors. She also blessed the prefects and proctors on the occasion. While introducing the new office bearers, their achievements in various curricular and co-curricular fields were also highlighted. After dispensing over sashes and badges, flags of 5 houses along with the prestigious school flag were handed over to the respective captains. Formal pledge was taken up by the Prefects with Mrs. Surinder Kaur, the Chief Proctor. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest congratulated the selected students and motivated them to scale new heights in future life. He motivated them to lead the school community by example rather than words. Himani Sharma, Pulkit Arora & Sachi Chugh, the School Captain, the Head Boy & Head Girl respectively, also expressed their gratitude to the school authorities and redeemed their pledge to take their responsibility and work honestly for the welfare of the school. The programme ended with the recital of National Anthem.

TOPPERS' DAY
To felicitate the outstanding achievements of achievers of Class X &
XII, the school organized a glittering Topper’s Day ceremony and
showered awards and honours upon them. Mr. Kuldeep Singh,
Commissioner, Income Tax graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Major
Neha Bhatnagar and Capt. Smitha L. who scaled the Mount Everest were
Guests of Honour. They were accorded a warm welcome in the school with
school band thereafter they were as escorted by N.C.C. pilots to the
venue where they were given floral as well as oral welcome. The
programme started with lighting the lamp in a ceremonious way followed
by ' Saraswati Vandana' to seek the blessings of Almighty.
It was a glorious moments for nearly 200 students who received Prizes
and certificates for various categories- overall, stream-wise and
subject -wise toppers of Class 10 and 12 as well as Proctorial Board
students. It was a proud moment for toppers who received the honour
amidst thunderous applause. While the honourable Chief Guest gave away
the prizes to the jubilant students, their ecstatic parents looked on
proudly. Twenty five teachers were also awarded trophies for carrying
out their duties in an excellent manner.
The cultural show put up on the occasion was not only a vivacious
treat for those present, but also an eye opener too. Hidden Savage in
Mankind – a Mime left too many questions to ponder. The Snake &
Peacock dance really mesmerized the audience. Bhangra – the Folk
dance of Punjab presented by the students made everybody dance to the
thump and beat of Dhol. Group dance based on different seasons added a
lot of fun and fiesta to the show.
Principal Mrs. Paramjit Kaur put on record her sincere appreciation
for the students who worked untiringly day and night and eulogized the
teachers for their genuine guidance and cheering efforts in moulding
holistic citizens to be the pride of tomorrow.
Addressing the audience in the jam - packed hall, honourable Chief
Guest lauded the efforts of the students and congratulated the
winners. He also exhorted them to feel proud to be an Indian and set a
higher goal and work harder and harder to achieve it. The school
Manager, Capt. Sayal concluded the function with a vote of thanks,
followed by National Anthem.

PRINCIPAL'S WORKSHOP
B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana in collaboration with CII Institute of Quality provided a platform for workshop of Principals of various C.B.S.E schools to think about education in future.
The workshop got off to a traditional note with formal lamp lighting ceremony followed by the welcome address by Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the host school. Ms. Sandeep Riat, Chairperson, CII Ludhiana Zonal Council was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session.
Dr. A. Senthil Kumaran, Principal Counsellor, CII Institute of Quality, Bangalore was the resource person on the occasion.
About 30 Principals from various CBSE schools attended this highly interactive workshop which made the administrators abreast of the latest in Academic Leadership, styles and archetypes of Leadership, Total Quality Management (TQM) and its fundamental principles.
All the major components to provide healthy and congenial learning environment and enhance the confidence level and students with a clear thrust on excellence were discussed upon. Promoting learning through playway techniques, continuous and comprehensive evaluation, self-evaluation and developing the positive attitude were the main areas of discussion during this highly interactive and informative session.
Open discussion was held at the end wherein the audience put forth their queries which were well answered.

B.C.M Arya organizes NCC Enrollment Drive

To
develop character and comradeship, as well as keenness for service and
capacity for leadership and create a human resource of organized,
trained and motivated youth, B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri
Nagar took up NCC enrollment service for the students of 8th (Junior Division) and 11th (Senior Division). A substantial number of cadets enrolled themselves successfully and took pledge to perform their duties.
A
number of incentives motivated students to become cadets. Besides being
an additional merit while seeking to join the forces or taking up other
jobs, NCC also motivates cadets to perform to their best by offering
scholarships, cash awards, prizes, medals, trophies etc.
Impressed
by the zest and enthusiasm shown by students Mrs. Paramjit Kaur,
Principal said “This drive will definitely develop qualities of
character, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the
ideals of selfless service among the youth.”
“It
will not only create a suitable environment to motivate the youth to
take up a career in the Armed Forces but also make them responsible

In order to create a high performance school environment and make
teaching- learning effective, a number of fun filled, action packed
innovative workshops for teachers are being organized at B.C.M Arya
Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar wherein eminent resource persons
deliberated on various challenging issues of education.
In a workshop Ms. Ravina Gandhi from The Indian School, Bahrain took
up an interactive session wherein she interacted with senior faculty
members about various classroom issues, behavioural problems, stress
bursting techniques as well as need and importance of effective
communication with students. The session was fun filled, highly action

activities.
Deliberating on designing curriculum for English at Primary level she
highlighted various skills of English Language development in detail
viz. Oral communication, reading, writing and active listening. Media
literary strategies, analysis, responding and evaluating along with
media forms, convention techniques were other areas touched upon her.
Another workshop which was conducted by Dr. T.S. Nagpal, an
accomplished surgeon and educationist in which new and innovative
methods of teaching based on the theories of multiple intelligence and
educational constructivism were introduced. All steps are taken to
make teaching and learning enjoyable in a total stress free
atmosphere. The aim is to develop the multifarious talents among the
children and to bring them up as a balanced personalities to face the
challenges of the fast growing world.
Above all the workshops really proved highly beneficial to teachers
and rejuvenated them.

WCPRC 2012-Global Vote Day at B.C.M Arya

About 2000 students of B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School , Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana took part in Global Vote 2012 for the World’s Children Prize for the Rights of the Child (WCPRC)-2012.
WCPRC is based on the UN Child Convention and strengthens the voices of children, connecting them together across countries and continents, and helps them to demand respect for the rights of the child. It holds an annual vote for global candidates who have made magnificent contributions to protecting and promoting the rights of the children.
It is a unique voting event for 27 million children in 57,530 schools and 102 countries are behind the WCPRC. Anna Mollel from Tanzania, Sakeena Yacoobi from Afghanistan & Ann Skelton from South Africa are the three final candidates who have been nominated for the World’s Children Prize 2012.
The vote day was observed with high spirits. It educated and empowered children on the rights of the children and to contribute to their humanitarian growth as global citizens with regard to human rights, democracy, the environment, global friendship and peace - giving them hope for future and the chance to demand respect for the rights. It provided an opportunity to young minds to get sensitized about deprived children.
“I got this strange feeling, almost like a dream, when I voted in the global vote today. I saw myself one day becoming a candidate who children can vote for. That’s a dream I plan to make a reality” says Sukriti Sehgal of X-C one of the students while casting her vote.
Millions of children will participate in this year’s Global vote to decide who will be the child Right Hero. The winner will receive a prize money of about 1,00,000 US Dollars at a glittering Award Giving Ceremony at Gripsholm Castle in Mariefred, Sweden.

Celebration of ‘Earth Day’ at BCM Arya
Ranked thrice amongst the top ten Green Schools of India as audited for Centre of Science & Environment, Delhi. B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana today observed ‘Earth Day’.
During the observation of Earth Day nearly 6000 students and teachers collectively took a pledge to protect Mother Earth.
The flag-off ceremony of Ocean Savers of India (OSI) Project 2012 took place on the occasion which aimed to create awareness to love and respect the marine ocean world. The flag off ceremony was organized in the presence of worthy management members and the Chief Guest Mr. Karn Ragade, Vice President of OSI.
OSI team was shown documentaries on marine world along with the team of 40 members. This Project was undertaken by School Environment Manager, Mrs. Vipra Kale. Capt. V.K. Sayal, School Manager encouraged the OSI and GSP team to lead ahead to preserve the water of the Rivers.
On this auspicious occasion the Senior Supervisor Mrs. Rachna Malhotra highlighted the importance of the Day and inspired the students to develop positive feelings towards nature. She appreciated the work done by the Green School Programme members and encouraged them to go ahead to serve Mother Nature wherein BCM Aryans joined hands to revive the blue green planet and its original glory.

B.C.M Arya organizes workshop on Curriculum Integration

To make the teachers familiar with use of latest technology of ‘e-Blocks’ a multi sensory language learning tool and to incorporate it into existing school curriculum, a training session for teachers was organized at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana. Nearly 150 teachers from various schools participated. The programme was formally inaugurated by lamp lighting ceremony followed by welcome address. Participants shared innovative approaches, resources & learnt from experiences.
Mrs. Shomalika, Manager, Virtual Edutechnica Pvt. Ltd. was the Resource Person. She laid stress on the integration of text books and curriculum into e-blocks in English and Mathematics for helping children to read confidently and enthusiastically with less efforts and immediate skills.
This event brought together educational faculty to support learning process and ease the creation of instruction material.
It was a highly interactive and informational lesson wherein the participants put forth their ideas and problems in conductive atmosphere.

B.C.M Arya holds “Graduation Ceremony"

To give certificates to the Primary students who joined B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School as buds and have now blossomed into flowers spreading their fragrances all around, a "Graduation Ceremony" was organised in School Auditorium on 23rd March 2012. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, the School Principal inaugurated the programme with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Mrs. P.K. Oberoi (Headmistress) accorded warm welcome to the parents of students who were passing out from Primary to Middle Section with new hopes and aspirations. The children seemed to be excited to enter an altogether different stage of their lives which will turn them towards more realistic situations and provide new opportunities in terms of cognitive development. Students wearing caps and capes were full of excitement which was writ large on their faces. As a part of blessings, flowers were showered upon them and they seemed to enjoy every moment of the day. The children were in jubilant mood and were ready to step on the ladder of progress into the middle School.
Mrs. Paramjit Kaur appreciated the achievements of students. It was a moment of mixed emotions as the students walked down the aisle to the tune of a touching Farewell song. On one hand, the teachers were proud of their perfect products and on the other hand they were sad to part with them after a close association of years.

To cherish the precious moments of success and to herald the achievement of tiny tots the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony was organized at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana amidst much fun and excitement. Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, Principal of the school graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mrs. P.K. Oberoi (Head Mistress) accorded warm welcome to the parents of the students who passed out from the Kindergarten to Primary section with new hopes and aspirations. It was a moment of celebration and pride for tiny tots attired in adorable robes and tassels who walked down the aisle to receive their Graduation Certificates amidst loud applause. The parents were proud to see their little graduates exuding with confidence.
They thanked the teachers for ably nurturing the talents of their kids. While delivering her speech, the principal stressed on the need to give good education to children from their early age. Every child is a unit of the society, and today’s children would decide the fate of tomorrow’s society. Everybody wished them luck as they stepped into the formal education.

Great pomp and show marked the inaugration of Annual Athletic Meet of Kindergarten & at B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana wherein young BCM Aryans participated with full Zest and Enthusiasm. After the warm welcome to the chief Guest Wing Commander Preeti Lalwale, Air Force Station, Halwara. The programme started with March Past by the students followed by the release of balloons in the air and Oath ceremony.
To give a colourful start to the occasion cultural items were also presented by the students which kept the spectators spell bound.

A Collage Making Activity based on the theme “Knowing the World through newspaper and magazines” was held in B.C.M Arya Model Sr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana. The students of Class VI to VIII participated in it with great enthusiasm. The students displayed their creativity talents to the best by making very beautiful and informative collages and also made power point presentations on the same theme. They displayed latest world happenings, calamities, history, culture, language and religion of many countries of the world. They even contacted the students of different countries like Australia, London, Japan, Nepal, China, Bangladesh via e-mails & internet to get more authentic information about their respective countries.
This activity really boosted up students’ confidence and developed their aesthetic sense. Above all, it was a great effort on the part of students and they got sensitized about the universal brotherhood and World peace.
